Veronica and Zach at the Duplex!

Hello, gorgeous, adoring fans! The other night, Zach and I performed at The Duplex in the Village with Brian Lowdermilk as our music director. It was such a wonderful experience! We had a great crowd, fabulous staff at the Duplex, and a wonderful mix of music to sing. I had been feeling under the weather all week, but I pushed through, for better or worse. PLEASE check out videos from the performance! You WON'T regret it!

Veronica and Zach together!

'

Veronica and Zach sit down to do an interview TOGETHER and reminisce about good times, singing, and get pumped for their upcoming show...also Veronica sings some Porgy and Bess. Good stuff!

Zach Altman

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the man I'll be "sharing" the stage with on the 17th, this is a video of him singing a gorgeous world premiere song by Kerrigan-Lowdermilk. Simply stunning! Zach brings us back to the day when the leading men of Broadway had cajones!

A BIG artistic day!

Hello, my beautiful, fantastic fans! I am still not COMPLETELY back to full-time blogging, but I wanted to give you some updates. Today was a big day in the life of Veronica Garland. First, we had our first couple auditions for Bombshell Baby! It was so wonderful to finally get started, and the first auditions were fantastic. ALSO, directly following the auditions, I had an intense rehearsal with Zachary Altman, and the one and only Brian Lowdermilk, of Kerrigan-Lowdermilk. Brian is music directing our cabaret and is pretty much the best. Besides writing fabulous songs, he is so great in shows and really knows how to support singers. Check out his website! I'll be singing one of his songs in the show!

Speaking of that show, for those of you who don't know about it, my longtime collaborator, Zachary Altman and I are putting on a cabaret at The Duplex! The show will be on June 17th at 6:30 pm! We've got a really fun, mixed show for all of you. Would be wonderful to see you there! Sending kisses to you all!

Claudia Carlsson

Hello, gorgeous, glowing fans! A few years back, around the time I did Screamy Todd with Zachary Altman, Mr. Altman showed me a video of a fabulously talented woman he had had the pleasure of seeing perform a few times. Her name is Claudia Carlsson. Claudia is a resident of Philadelphia and when she is not performing, she teaches! Madame Carlsson is a graduate of Oberlin College. She possesses a gorgeous, powerful voice with a full, velvety head voice and a ballsy, chesty belt! I dream of the day when I get a chance to perform with this woman...maybe in Side Show...or someone should write the musical of Death Becomes Her with La Carlsson as Meryl and yours truly as Goldie...THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS! Check out her marvelous video singing a song by Kerrigan-Lowdermilk.

Veronica Garland: Living Legend?

Veronica Garland has been described as “full-throated ,” “a full figured Julianne Moore,” “frightening,” “loud,” and “frighteningly loud” by both her peers and the press. Miss Garland had her first taste of the musical theatre spotlight when she briefly understudied Patti LuPone in the Australian Production of Evita. She went on for an ailing Ms. LuPone one night and so wowed those in attendance that La LuPone demanded she be immediately removed from the production. While still in the blush of youth, she also secretly understudied other great leading ladies of the Broadway Stage, including Betty Buckley in the ill-fated Carrie, Judy Kuhn in the flop Broadway Production of Chess, Angela Lansbury in the short-lived revival of Mame, and both Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner in cult musical, Side Show. There was never a show in which Ms. Garland did not add a full throated, belted interpolation. Ms. Garland soon felt the glare of the spotlight was too much for her delicate complexion and all but retired from the musical stage. She has been residing in solitude in Los Angeles where her hobbies include painting her face, wishing her eye lashes were longer and YouTubing herself. A few years ago, she was tepidly approached by Zachary Altman (www.highbelting.com) to come out of retirement to do a concert version of Sweeney Todd. She reluctantly accepted and came to define the role of Mrs. Lovett. Never has a comeback been so intensely anticipated and never has an ovation been so richly deserved.
In 2010, Heyer- Anchel Productions mounted a production of Into The Woods specifically for her. Her interpretation of The Witch was acclaimed for its depth, pathos and interpolated belted “F.” Veronica continued to “wow” audiences in the Holiday Revue, The Private Life of Veronica Garland, which was an enormous success. She then scared everyone into hysterics making them think she was REALLY leaving the stage in As If We Never Said Goodbye: Veronica’s Farewell Tour of 2011. Following her farewell tour, La Garland starred in a staged concert performance of Carrie: The Musical as Margaret White, opposite Morgan Anderson as the title role. Veronica’s performance of “Eve Was Weak,” which has thousands of views, can be found here.
Recently, Christiana Little, a New York based singer, actress, songwriter and playwright, approached Veronica about starring in an original musical tailored to her special talents, and so this summer, Veronica will star in Bombshell Baby!
