Shirley is still the best!

So, I don't know if anything could have made me happier than Dame Shirley Bassey performing at the Oscars. Not only did she sound great, but she looked great and she's 76 YEARS OLD!!! UM....She's almost 80!!! I thought Adele and Barbra did a great job at the Oscars, but Shirley stole the show for me. I also LOVE how tickled she is by the standing ovation at the end. She is just a miracle. CONGRATS! THE DAME REIGNS!

Shirley Bassey: Shirley is forever!

Hello, gorgeous ones! I don't know if I've posted about her on here before, but just in case you didn't know: Shirley Bassey might be my favorite singer of all time. Not only did she belt so high and thrillingly in her youth...she's STILL singing and sounds f*cking INCREDIBLE! Shirley's voice in her youth was like a combination of Judy and Barbra, it had the dark, thrilling, chesty color of Judy and the range and phrasing of Streisand. The fact that she can still sing at all, let alone give an incredible, thrilling performance in her 70s is just AMAZING! Shirley is just the best. Here are two videos of her singing live in 2011!
