Donna Murphy as the Witch?!?!

I'm sorry, I'm too upset to even think!!! Many of you may not know this, but I was signed on to play the Witch in this summer's production of Into the Woods for Shakespeare in The Park, but because of the upcoming production of Bombshell Baby, I had to withdraw. NOW, I find out that Donna Murphy has been cast as the Witch?!?! Meryl Streep I would have been thrilled with, Patti LuPone, would have been epic, Glenn Close, I would have enjoyed her oddly satisfying throaty belting, or how about AUDRA MCDONALD!!! I know she's doing Porgy and Bess, but GEEZ! Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Donna Murphy's SOBBED through performance of Fosca in Passion, I saw her in Wonderful Town, The King and I, and thought she added flair to the role of the witch/mother in Tangled, but the thought of her thin, flat voice on that music makes me want to sing in a satisfying belt to drown her out.

Bombshell Baby!

Hello, my gorgeous fans! You might have noticed that at the top of the page there is a tab that says "Bombshell Baby: A New Musical!" This is a link to the blog/website of this exciting project that I'm involved in! Recently, I traveled back to New York from my sunny home in LA, and was approached by a talented young woman by the name of Christiana Little about starring in a new musical that she was writing for me. Christiana and I have history: She directed me in Into The Woods as the Witch, so I OF COURSE signed on immediately. The blog is just getting started, so be patient while more information is added!

As we get closer and closer to the show, I will be revealing more information, including plot details, costume sketches, backstage drama and more! Stay tuned!
