Makeup for Cancer Fighters

Hello, gorgeous fans. If you've been reading my blog, you know that I love the pixiwoo sitters, Samantha and Nicola Chapman. They do fabulous makeup tutorials and Samantha has her own brush line called Real Techniques. Nicola has been doing a series of videos where she'll do makeup on someone who is fighting cancer, talking with them about their struggles and by communicating with them and helping them with their makeup, hopefully making women who are fighting this disease feel empowered and more attractive during a really, REALLY difficult time. I thought the videos were so great and I applaud Nicola for doing them. Check them out!

Sigma Brushes

Hello, my gorgeous Easter bunnies! Today I want to talk about a fabulous product that I use on a daily basis: Sigma Brushes! Sigma is not a brand that's known by everyone because they primarily sell their products online. Recently: I was watching some of my favorite makeup gurus and saw them reviewing these brushes. I ordered a brush set and here's what I thought. For the most part I really liked these brushes. They're much less expensive than other nice brands like MAC, Tom Ford, Bobbi Brown, etc, but they still have a high quality feel.

One thing that drives me nuts about MAC is that they don't sell a big brush set. For those of us who aren't professional makeup artists, it's difficult to know which brushes are essential to our makeup kit, and that's the one thing I REALLY liked about Sigma. They do the work for you and give you a great brush set that really covers most things you really need to do. The eye shadows brushes, contouring brush, and concealer brushes are all really great and and get the job done. The only let down is that the large powder brush and stippling brush. They both shed a lot. It's only two brushes out of the 12 brush set, but they're brushes that you use a lot, so my recommendation is if you really want some great quality eye brushes, you should just buy the Eye Set. For face brushes, everyone knows I really love Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman, but obviously for real professional brushes, go for MAC, Louise Young, Tom Ford, etc. Most of my recommendations are for daily use for the most part. Samantha Chapman Brushes!

Hello, gorgeous ones! I recently posted one of the pixiwoo sister's videos for their Sophia Loren makeup tutorial. One of the sisters, Samantha Chapman, came out with a line of her own makeup brushes called Real Techniques, and because I'm such an enormous fan of their videos, I just HAD to try them out. I purchased them a few months ago, so I've really had solid amount of time to use them. In short: I love them. They are fairly priced, good quality brushes. They are made of a synthetic material called taklon, which is easy to clean and they're SO soft. The one downside of the synthetic brushes is that they take longer to dry after cleaning.

I bought both the face and eye set, which both cost about $20 each. You get 4 brushes in the face set and 5 brushes in the eye set. At first I was wild about the face set and was just mildly satisfied with the eye set, but after months of use I've found that the brushes in the eye set have so many amazing different uses and I love them. The deluxe crease brush is probably my favorite brush to use for under-eye concealer. The buffing brush in the face set is just flawless. It really pats your foundation into the skin and just looks to die for. Both sets are fabulous and I highly recommend them. Also, she sells a separate brushes, which are slightly more expensive, but in my opinion, worth it. The stippling brush is a MUST. Check it out!
