Les Miserables Review

So, tonight I saw the new film version of Les Miserables, featuring an all-star cast of Hugh Jackman....Russell Crowe....Anne Hathaway....Amanda Seyfried? ...anyway. I had been hearing a lot of stuff about the movie through friends and via facebook. There are camps that love it and camps that hate it. Those who hate it seem to have enormous issues with the singing and then film acting and talking that happens within the songs that we are used to seeing "performed" on a grand stage with costumes and sets, selling it to an audience much further away.

I remember when I saw the film version of Sweeney Todd, starring Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter, I remember there were many different opinions as well. Some people hated the singing, some people liked it, etc. I very much liked it. I thought the way the music and the singing was handled really fit the vision of the film on a whole, and that show has a complicated book with complicated characters who are scheming and plotting and doing all sorts of awful things. The songs were almost seamless through the movie and worked perfectly with the plot.

Les Miserables and Sweeney Todd are probably the most opposite musicals ever. While Sweeney is driven by the complicated plot and book, Les Miserables is a sung-through musical. It is all about hit tunes, exciting singing and a few moving characters. In my opinion, the characters in Les Miz that you care about are Jean Valjean, Fantine and Eponine. Those are the characters I relate to most. They have real human feelings and superior songs to show them.

Fantine was played brilliantly by Anne Hathaway. Fantine is the perfect gem of a part. You come on, sing a great song, everyone loves you, and then you die in the middle of the first act. I was surprised and disappointed that they cut a bunch of Fantine's music in the movie, considering Anne Hathway is the highlight, I would have liked to see more of her. Her performance of "I Dreamed a Dream" was well sung and made me cry. It was the only time the concept of the live singing with movie style acting really, really worked for me, and the fact that it was done in one take is impressive. You could sing a song great in one take, hundreds of performers do that daily, but doing a performance for the camera without playing to a big house, crying and still hitting all the notes is no easy task, and Anne rose to the occasion. There were moments in her other parts I thought she was too much too soon or a little self indulgent, but I'd be surprised if that song didn't win her an Oscar. It worked for Jennifer Hudson.

The two male leads, Russell Crowe and Hugh Jackman were a mixed bag. It's so funny to me that Hugh Jackman has been on Broadway, won a Tony, sung legit musical theater, and sang so terribly for most of the film. His vocal production physically hurt me at moments, and it's unfortunate because he actually acted beautifully, but his rendition of "Bring Him Home" was horrific. Bad singing from Hugh and bad musical direction from whoever didn't tell him not to scream that song. Mr. Jackman clearly has a great voice, he's just gotten some bad information on how to use it. Russell Crowe has been most people's choice for the worst singer in the movie, but at least he didn't have me grabbing for my throat. The only time I found his singing truly silly was during "Stars," where he made some interesting choices.

Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Cohen were enjoyable as the Thenardiers, althought Mr. Cohen's performance was a little subdued and his choice of accent was strange, Madame Carter/Burton came off much better. Eddie Redmayne wins 2nd place for worst singing after Hugh Jackman. His kermit the frog impression made him so unattractive that I couldn't believe he had two women after him. Also, they should have cut "Empty Chairs and Empty Tables." I know people like the song, but it adds nothing to the plot and stopped the movie dead in its tracks towards the end when everyone wants to go home. Samantha Barks was lovely as Eponine, but her singing suffered when she did quiet singing. It seemed as if someone told her she couldn't sound so "Broadway" and she took it too far. Also, she was a wobbly mess in "Heart Full of Love." That duet/trio was almost unlistenable. Amanda Seyfried was very pretty and her autotuned flutter only added to her allure...oy. To be honest, she offended me less than Eddie Redmayne though.

Broadway actor, Aaron Tveit, was great as Enjolras. A little too boyish for the part, but he sang well and looked handsome. Hadley Fraser, who had one line in the movie, "You at the barricade listen to this, etc" did the best singing of the movie in maybe 20 seconds. Check him out singing Marius in the clip bellow.

All in all I enjoyed the movie, I was moved by it and thought there were great performances. I even liked the added "Action scenes" that added more to Javert's chase for Valjean. I commend the director and sound people for trying this new way to do the movie musical. It'll be interesting to see if it'll become common practice in the future. I thought the production design was good, I especially like/was upset by how awful, dirty and creepy the docks were with the prostitutes. Anyway, definitely go see this movie!

Kim Kardashian is pregnant with WHOSE child?!

Why, with Kanye West's baby, OF COURSE! Kanye supposedly announced to a few hundred fans at his concert this past week that Kim is expecting, and now the family is coming out with the big news as well! What a wonderful NYE surprise! I mean, maybe this explains why Kim's been looking a little tired lately. There have been a lot of pictures of her being caught out and about without any makeup on....SHOCKER! Well, I am sending good vibes all the way to her uterus. That baby is in for a whole lot of surprises.

Bette Davis buys war bonds for christmas

This clip just played on TCM and I found it so hilarious. Bette Davis was an enormous supporter of the troops during WWII, which is commendable and awesome, but come on...this clip is just hilarious. Check it out!

Hilarious Impersonators do the Les Mis Red Carpet

Wow...this is just perfect. Christine Pedi is a genius, and Christine Bianco, Carly Sakolove and John Walton West are all just perfection. Also, after watching the interviews with the cast about this movie, I have almost no desire to even see it. Dear Cast of Les Miz, You are all just awful. People sing live all the time, 8 times a week on Broadway, and you got to do multiple takes. Get over it. Also, Amanda Seyfried's flutter....is insane. It also sounds like a result of weird sound editing...or maybe it's that fast...

Carrie Underwood will play Maria in NBC Sound of Music

Hmm...well this is interesting. A while back, NBC announced that they'd be doing a TV broadcast of The Sound of Music, and initially I thought they'd cast Laura Osnes, since she did it at Carnegie Hall and she's pretty hot on the Broadway scene right now, but they clearly went with someone more...famous. I am really interested to see how this goes for Ms. Underwood...I guess we'll find out. At least they're doing Rodgers and Hammerstein on TV.

Danielle Fishel does Lindsay Lohan as Liz

Remember Danielle Fishel from Boy Meets World?!?! I DO, and this clip is just great. She has grown into a funny, funny, big lipped lady.

X Factor is confusing

How pretty did Britney look the first night of X Factor this week? That was the good part of this week. The performances this week ranged from awesome to confusing. The highlights were of course Tate Stevens and of course Carly Rose Sonenclar's rendition of "Rolling in the Deep" was wonderful and original. A few others were pretty great too. Diamond White did a great job trying something new and I was SHOCKED she was in the sing-off. I also hate to admit it, but I always like Emblem 3. I like there mediocre voices, adorable faces and star personalities. I also love how the one who isn't their brother is all like tortured and weird.

Paige Thomas, who went home last night, actually showed a completely different side of herself, but did anyone else notice that she wasn't surprised when she found out she was being sent home? You wonder if she was told...she also wanted nothing to do with Demi. Yikes. I was really, really surprised that Diamond and Vino Alan were in the sing-off. WHO is voting for CeCe Fry and 5th Harmony?!?! CeCe is SO unlikable and was acting like a drugged up sex kitten during the judge's feedback. She also sounds terrible. I think she does have a voice in there, it just sounds awful. She throws it around and sounds like a girl singing with headphones in her room.

Vino and Diamond both did a really good job, especially Vino, who I hated singing "That Loving Feeling." He also needed to chill out with all the gesturing and waving to the audience while he's getting feedback from the judges. Britney would be talking and he'd be like waving at someone in the audience...stop. Diamond was clearly going to win over Vino, and I sort of wish she didn't. I think Diamond is going to be scooped up by a record label or given her own show on Disney Channel or something. She is SO talented and pretty and likable that'd it'd just be a shock if nothing happened for her.

Anyway, Britney looked gorgeous the first episode of the week and I even liked her suit and hat outfit. ALSO, I LOVE THE "SCREAM AND SHOUT" video! Britney looks amazing and the song is pretty cool. Demi is so annoying, but at least she finally started looking better. I hope CeCe gets voted off next week.

Lindsay Lohan arrested for bar brawl!

Wow...this has been a big week for Lindsay. After bombing in her TV movie Liz & Dick, Lindsay was supposedly very, very upset. To cheer herself up, she went to a Justin Bieber concert where she went after one of the boys from The Wanted and even tried to sneak backstage, unsuccessfully. She met up with the boy, Max George, after the show at a club, but when he saw she was intensely drunk, he made a run for it.

The accounts are a little different on different websites, but it sounds like Max George was flirting with a woman at the bar and it got Lindsay insanely belligerent. Some insults were thrown and finally when a mention of Lohan's recent performance in Liz & Dick was mentioned, she lost it and punched the woman. Lindsay was arrested and was bailed out by her friend and former assistant, Gavin Doyle. Check out the video of Lindsay, bellow, DEMANDING that Gavin be thrown out of the car and he's forced to take the long walk home with reporters following him...yikes...Lindsay violated her parole so she's going to be in deep legal trouble...ugh, I just want it to work out for her, even though she makes it really hard for anyone to feel sorry for her.

Some good Liz & Dick gifs

Ah, these are good. I wish the first one included her chugging the booze right after destroying her room.

Two and a Half Men Star Angus T. Jones tells us to stop watching him!

Angus T. Jones, star of Two and a Half Men, who is making a whopping $250,000 an episode, appeared in a video for a christian website called Forerunner Chronicles. He talks about his discovery of christianity and then tells us to stop watching his show. He doesn't want to be with it and says it's "filth." Wow! I'm sure the salary makes it a lot easier to commit to being in such "filth." I mean, I hate this show as much as anyone else, but it seems pretty hypocritical to me...hmmm...

Liz & Dick: Review

Hello, all! Well, we made it. We got through Lindsay Lohan in Lifetime's Liz & Dick. The first thing I should say is that even though I love Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton and I'm an enormous fan of their movies, the way their love story was portrayed in this movie was shallow, vapid and cliche. They were written ridiculously and even though I am sure they both had their moments, I think both of them cared more about acting, movies and theater than the Liz and Dick portrayed in the movie. Also, Elizabeth Taylor was a humanitarian, raising millions for various charities. She wasn't just all booze, partying and temperament.

Anyway, onto the performances. I'll start with Grant Bowler. You may know Mr. Bowler from HBO'S True Blood playing the role of Cooter. Mr. Bowler actually did an okay job of playing Richard Burton, but lacked any of the gravitas that Mr. Burton possessed. Richard Burton was not so young and not a typical heartthrob when he captured the heart of Liz Taylor, so he clearly had a lot of other things going on with him, Mr. Bowler was fine in the part, but didn't have the chutzpah.

Now let's get to La Lohan. What's so shocking about her performance is that she literally made no attempt to act or sound like Elizabeth Taylor and it's not that she has no mannerisms to imitate, because she definitely does...Lindsay just didn't seem to be able to muster anything up. Also, it's hard to believe they cast her in the first place. First of all, Liz Taylor was a striking woman...also, she had a metallic, recognizable voice. Lindsay's smoker's cough just didn't cut it. On top of a terrible performance, she was poorly made up and was given cheap looking wigs. The costumes were the one thing I liked. I will say though...Lindsay had a few weirdly moving moments in the movie...I'm sort of embarrassed to admit that. It made me think that maybe she was just gigantically miscast and maybe there's a future for her...but this movie is just shockingly bad. It wasn't even as campy as I was hoping .::sigh::. Oh well.

I WAS happy to see some familiar faces in the supporting cast though: David Eigenberg as Ernest Lehman, and Charles Shaughnessy as Anthony Asquith.

Face Forward

I was bored and watching the Cher and Wynona Ryder movie, Mermaids, and I remembered a great picture of Cher with awesome glitter on her eyes and a friend had reminded me that the look was by Kevyn Aucoin, so I did a google search and came across a blog that posted the entire Face Forward book and it's incredible. Kevyn Aucoin does the most AMAZING celebrity transformations with makeup. Above is Gwyneth Paltrow as Faye Dunaway in Bonnie and Clyde. Click here to see the whole book. It's AMAZING! Check out Celine Dion as Maria Callas and Calista Flockhart as Audrey Hepburn!

Lindsay Lohan at Liz & Dick Premiere

Oh my goodness...well...Lindsay really made an effort to clean up for her premiere of Liz & Dick. I actually think for once her hair and makeup weren't awful and I like the earrings and the dress would be fine if it didn't have those awful diamond holes with the dangly red stones and didn't fit so badly...but she truly looked much better than usual. Also, I BELIEVE that that's one of Liz Taylor's actual furs in the picture. The reviews for the Lifetime movie have been just splendidly bad, but it sounds like it'll be a fun, campy watch! Also...I've seen a few clips and Lindsay is just terrible...TERRIBLE! OY! I CAN'T WAIT!

Britney is NOT into Demi and Khloe

This could be totally untrue, but I'm sort of hoping it's not. Supposedly, Britney is SO not into Demi Lovato or Khloe Kardashian. People are saying that Britney hardly speaks to Demi and that when Khloe is hosting the show, Britney is usually rolling her eyes, looking at her nails and making faces at the audience. Khloe is aware of Brit's dislike of her and keeps her distance. Demi and Khloe are friendly and Demi even championed Khloe and assisted her in getting the hosting gig. Basically, Brit just thinks she is too cool for these girls and...she is totally right.

X-Factor Top 10: Thoughts

Well, well, well...we're now down to the top 10. For the past two weeks I've been voting like crazy for my favorites and have been surprised to see certain people go home...but i've also been happy to see Britney looking slightly better every episode. Last night when the top 10 were announced, Britney looked AMAZING!!!! The gold dress she was wearing, her hair and makeup all finally came together and she looked like a million bucks...she still just needs tons more makeup though and then she'll be good. Also...the bangs...ugh...they've gotten better, but they need to go.

Anyway, I have been so pissed that CeCe Fry has been the cause of two worthier contestants leaving the show. The First was Adam Brock. Adam probably had the best voice on the show (maybe besides Tate and Carly), but unfortunately is just too silly to be serious and to ridiculous to be fun and edgy, and then L.A Reid showcased him in the worst possible ways ever and that was totally not his fault. I bet if Simon had handled him or even Demi he would have faired better. Also, he just sang kind of badly in his last few performances, BUT THE FACT THAT CECE STAYED OVER HIM IS MADDENING!

AND THEN! LAST NIGHT! Everyone felt bad for CeCe because Demi said she "wanted it the most." Who cares...she can't sing. She whines into pitches and then screams. It's sort of incredible that she can even get through songs. Also, are we all just forgetting what a psycho bitch she was at the first auditions? Anyway, she sang "All By Myself" terribly, and someone Jennel Garcia ended up at the bottom with Paige. When Jennel was at Demi's house I really thought she would be at LEAST top 3, but Demi really did mess up her whole image and should have kept her girl next door, Kelly Clarkson look. The bottom line is that Jennel is actually a good singer and the fact that everyone pitied CeCe and forgot about Jennel sucks. CECE NEEDS TO GO HOME! The other thing that sucks is that Paige got a better song for her "sing off" with Jennel and just looked better too...what was going on with Jennel's hair?! Oy!

Besides that I liked Demi's 40s look last night and it was nice to see her with some eyes and lip color after weeks of thick eyebrows and no makeup...her face isn't pretty enough to pull that off and does everyone remember how GORGEOUS she looked when they were going around on auditions? (Pic Below)

American Horror Story just keeps getting better and better! (Spoilers!)

So, I used this picture because I think there is going to be a serious face off between these two for the title of biggest scene stealing queen. Last night's episode left me completely breathless and overwrought with excited emotion! For the past few episodes I had been WONDERING what the deal was with Zachary Quinto, and finally it was revealed: HE is the scary bloody face murder guy! SCARY!!! And unfortunately, he has my favorite lesbian reporter, Sarah Paulson, trapped in his basement! JUST KILL ME!!! I WANT HER TO SURVIVE SO BADLY! I have a feeling we're in for some masterful acting and creepiness from these two.

Also, Jessica Lange's monologue into her crazy night on the town was just the best thing I've seen in a long time. She is just a miracle. I was also overjoyed to see her in some lipstick and a sexy outfit. I love this show! A NUN had a one night stand! YES! We also got some more clues into what's going on with the aliens...sort of. What IS going on with the aliens?? I guess that'll be the big reveal. Also, poor Chloe Sevigny...

Anyway, there's really no point to this post besides that I LOVE this show. I think it's giving all these actors amazing opportunities to chew the scenery, and NOT in a bad way, in the best, most entertaining way possible. I am so into this show! Also...how fabulous would I be in the next season...

New Oz Trailer!

I am just so excited about this movie! It looks unreal amazing and now there's a fabulous new trailer which reveals more about the plot of the movie, etc. Take a look!

Caroline Manzo OUT of Real Housewives of NJ!

Wow! I am shocked! Bravo is mixing it up a little for the new season of RHONJ. Bravo has decided to can Caroline and Kathy. YOW! Supposedly they want to bring in some new women who will side with Teresa and  make things even more crazy between Teresa, Melissa and Joe. Crazier?!?! How?!?! Well, I love Caroline and I'm very sad to see her go.

I just love Lana Del Rey: Album Review

Lana Del Rey is quickly becoming my most embarrassing obsession. When I was first introduced to her by a friend of mine I was enormous skeptical and judgmental of her music, lyrics, etc...but then I slowly found myself listening to Born to Die on repeat. I quickly became completely obsessed with almost every single track on the album, including the bonus tracks. Besides her music, I love her cold, unattached, trippy live performances, amazing fashion choices, her NAILS, her puffy lips...I'm just really into all of it.

Anyway, when I realized Lana was releasing an EP I quickly started searching for leaked tracks and adored the snippets I managed to find. Finally, after weeks of waiting, the EP has been released and it does NOT disappoint. Weirdly, the first single from the album "Ride" is my LEAST favorite song on the EP, and I still really like that song. I also loved the totally deranged 10 minute music video of the song. Lana is like...oddly compelling and vulnerable...I hate myself for being moved by her cold, empty stares and weird lips...but I am...I just am.

I think my favorites from this EP are "American," which is just a really good song with good hooks, etc. "Cola" and "Body Electric"are tied for most favorite on the EP. "Cola" has the lyric "My p*ssy tastes like Pepsi Cola," which as someone I know said is the "best ad placement of all time." Both these songs are sort of dark, sort of remind me of Fiona Apple. Lana does a cover of the song "Blue Velvet," which you've probably heard on the H&M commercials, which I'm definitely into. "Yayo," was the one song that took me a few listens to get into, and finally I was just hypnotized by her bizarre vocal choices. "Bel Air" is just a dreamy dream of a song. OH and I almost forgot. "Gods and Monsters" has some of the most demented, enjoyable lyrics in a song I've heard in a long time. Good stuff! Angels wanting sex is always fun! Oh, and one last thing, Lana shows off her vocal range in "Cola," doing a few runs in head voice up to a high C sharp...I mean, you can hear her the cigarettes, but I was legit surprised.

Kristen's bootylicious dress at Breaking Dawn premiere!

So, my favorite movie franchise and yours is on the road to promote the final installment of the Twilight Saga. There has been tons of drama in the past months because of Kristen cheating on Robert Pattinson with the Snow White director. Now it seems like they're back together...maybe. But more on that later. I mostly just wanted to show you this dress. I kind of love it and I love her makeup and hair...well...I'd love her hair if it wasn't a mess, but the I'm into the idea...check out the back bellow.

Kim Kardashian shows off her "Tail-Feathers" at the EMA's

So, this weekend the EMA's happened overseas and all the A-listers showed up. Kim Kardashian even made an appearance in a strange dress. It looks like it has a big train of feathers on the back. Kim, as always, looks gorgeous, but I don't know how I feel about this dress. What do you guys think?

FIREFLY REUNION ON SCIENCE CHANNEL!

So, if you're smart, like me, you are a big fan of the cancelled series Firefly, created by Joss Whedon, you're watching the Browncoats reunion on THE SCIENCE CHANNEL! Our favorites from the show are sitting around talking about the series that got away. What a tragedy. I would give anything to get a full 5 seasons of this show. UGH! Also...I don't think I could love Nathan Fillion more. From his nudity on the show to his cute chubbyness now...I just am in love.

Justin and Selena over?!

Oh no!!! The most annoying couple in Hollywood has called it quits. Rumors had been flying for a few weeks that these two were going their separate ways, but then Selena tweeted a pic of Justin with a Victoria's Secret model, seemingly pissed off, and it got people speculating. Selena...you seem pretty annoying, but from what I've heard, Justin Bieber sounds like a complete nightmare, so it's probably for the best...Oy.

Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill in Star Wars sequels?!

So, I recently told you all that some Star Wars sequels were in the works. What I didn't know is that all the original heavy hitters have been approached to return in their roles in the sequels...UM!!! WHAT?!? I assumed that they'd recast the characters with younger actors or something because the world sucks, but....it looks like we may get a boozy, slurring Princess Leia...and I'm so excited. Harrison Ford is supposedly into the project, but wants Han Solo to die! What?!?! Also, I recently read that Han was supposed to die in the last movie, but that they worried it would effect action figure sales (ha!) so they kept him alive.

There have been novels written as sequels to Star Wars where Luke turns evil and Leia has to stop him or whatever. I wonder if that's the direction they're going to go in or if they'll come up with a completely new story with new characters and make the old characters less involved...I'm hoping for lots of weird Carrie Fisher.

Check out Monet Sabel with Charlie Rosen Big Band

Hello, my gorgeous fans! This past summer I had the pleasure of working with an AMAZINGLY talented young lady by the name of Monet Julia Sabel. She played the "Dream Baby" in Bombshell Baby and belted a lot of Es and Fs. Now, she and her exceedingly talented boyfriend, Charlie Rosen have come together with his "Big Band" to create one of the most wonderful EPs I've heard in a LONG while from anyone...in any genre.

First of all, the recording quality is so great. The instruments sound wonderful and the mixing is great. The arrangements are SO FUN and well done and showcase all the players fabulously. Of course the big star of the CD is, of course, Monet who is all at once sultry and playful. She uses her voice effortlessly and stylishly throughout the six tracks. I think my favorites are "Old Devil Moon," which is just a fabulous song, and the ballad, "You and I." What's so wonderful about Monet is that while the EP is a throwback to the days of Big Bands and singers like Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, etc, her singing is reminiscent of that style while being modern and current. I was delighted to see "What More Do I Need" on the CD, as it is a Sondheim song that's not performed so often, so hearing it sung so expertly with such a fun, charismatic arrangement was just a pleasure! Looking forward to hearing more from both Money and Charlie!

The EP is available on iTunes for the very reasonable price of $5.94. Get it!

ALSO! Monet and Charlie will be doing a show at the Laurie Beechman on November 19th at 7:00pm!

Veronica and Monet in Bombshell Baby!

Thank goodness...

THANK GOODNESS! I was so nervous, but Obama won it for a second term...PHEW! Also, Rachel Maddow is ONE sexy lesbian, and you know how I just LOVE lesbians...lesbian...lesbian...LEZBIAN!?

Kylie and Kendall being beaten by Kris? Suicidal???

This is so messed up. Someone called the police and reported that Kris Jenner had been beating Kendall with a belt and that Kylie was going to jump off the Hollywood sign and kill herself. Of course these things were NOT true and was an elaborate prank. Kris Jenner is FURIOUS and suspects it was a tabloid reporter who created the whole thing and is plotting her revenge....yikes.

Techinal Difficulties caused Mario to steal Khloe's lines...

I was wondering about this. On the Thursday show, XFactor was having some MAJOR difficulties with the teleprompter, amongst other things, and it's being reported that because of these glitches, it was unclear who was supposed to say what, so Mario was stepping all over Khloe's lines in a valiant (and gay) attempt to make the show continue running smoothly. I thought something was up. Supposedly Khloe was not happy about it, and might just be interviewing the contestant backstage from now on. Hmmm....I LOVE KHLOE!

Britney Spears is writing a book!!

Hello all! So, my favorite X Factor judge and yours, Miss Britney Spears, has just signed a deal with a publishing company and will be writing a book. Unfortunately it is NOT a memoir, but it may be something altogether more entertaining. Britney will be writing a book loosely based on her experiences in the business with a main character based on her. As excited as I am, I am pretty sure Britney will be dictating to a ghost writer as she eats some snickers....

Joe Simpson denies his gayness

I must say, Joe Simpson is looking FAB in his fedora. Anyway, Joe Simpson is vehemently denying the gay rumors and because he's a former pastor and wants to protect his wife and family's reputations, insiders are saying he will never admit it. Oy, well, I think that hat says it all.

Yay! Bryan Singer will direct X-Men First Class Sequel!

YES! So, the initial director for X-Men: Days of Future Past dropped out of the project and NOW Bryan Singer, who directed the first two X-Men movies, will be taking over the project. I am SO excited about this. The first X-Film was not my favorite because at the time I wanted something bigger and flashier, but looking back it was just really well done. X-Men 2 is probably my favorite super hero movie of all time. It is SO well done and is just so excited, good story, etc. Most fans were really disappointed with the third film...myself included, and have always wondered what Singer would have done with the film. Well, we may not get that, but we got the next best thing! I am so excited about this and the story is one of the most famous ones from the comics!

I LOVE American Horror Story! (Spoilers)

So, I was DEFINITELY skeptical when I heard the premise of the second season of American Horror Story, but my skepticism has been met with a scary, entertaining, well acted show that I am SO into!!! I LOVED the first season, but after a while I found the family annoying and wanted more of the rest of the cast and of course found the house a little limiting...I LOVED IT, I'm just saying. The setting is just so creepy and the characters are just crazy, campy amazingness.

I could watch Jessica Lange act out anything, literally anything, and luckily, since the series will continue changing the settings every season, hopefully we will get to watch her play more amazing characters. At first I was nervous that she was going to play a hardcore nun who was righteous and steadfast in her faith/be boring, but don't worry. Sister Jude has a DARK past! She was a slutty lounge singer, alcoholic who killed a little girl in a hit and run. I am also just OBSESSED that in the flashback scenes they made know attempt to make her look younger. In the last season they used special effects and makeup to do flashback scenes for Jessica Lange's character...not in this season. So we get a boozy, sultry Jessica Lange in a red dress and slinky dress looking her age and hitting on young sailors...YES!

Sarah Paulson, who I've always REALLY liked, is fabulous as the lesbian journalist. Evan Peters is also really good as the suspected serial killer, and we get to see his butt sometimes, so that's fun. Lily Rabe gets to have fun playing innocent and now insane and slutty and she does a great job of it. James Cromwell is SOOOOO SCARY!!! SOOOO CREEPY!! I'm also enjoying the modern day story going on with Adam Levine and Jenna Tatum. At first I was like, What is this? But now I'm into it and like how it's unfolding. Zachary Quinto is always appealing, but I'm waiting to find out what the "Deal" is with his character...there MUST be something going on there....I guess we'll find out! WATCH THIS SHOW! The second season is looking like it's going to be even better than the first!

Obsessed with Kanye and Kim's Batman and Cat Woman!

I wasn't so into Kim's Mermaid costume (see bellow), not because I didn't love her blond wig, shells, and mermaid skirt thing, I just thought she looked 40. BUT! I love her as Cat Woman and Kanye as Batman! Also, very into Scott as Robin...especially his package. Kourtney is looking pretty hot too!!! .::sigh::. I love everyone else's Halloween.

Jessica Simpson's parents get divorced...the gay, gay truth!

Ugh, this sounds MESSY. So, Jessica Simpson's parents, Joe and Tina, are getting a divorce and the reason is some twinky little guy named Bryce. According to "sources," Joe and Tina had been having marital trouble for a while and went on a last chance to save the marriage trip to Hawaii. When they returned to Los Angeles, Joe got on a plane to New York. Tina found this suspicious, especially because she had found a few pictures of Bryce Chandler Hill around her home...ew...and THEN one of Jessica's close friends told her that Joe was having an affair with this kid. Tina got on a plane to New York to ambush Joe. When she got there they had a big fight and the truth came out. On top of all that, it's being reported that Tina was looking at their finances and Joe Simpson has spent a TON of money on presents, concert tickets, gifts and fancy hotel rooms for this guy...ew.

So...now the couple has headed toward a messy divorce and Joe's personal life is now out in the open. The sad part is that people are saying that Joe is madly in love with this Bryce guy, but Bryce supposedly thinks Joe is a total joke and is using him to get famous...big surprise. P.S...how is this kid a model!??!?! He is SO GROSS! Joe! You could have done SO much better. I mean, there are plenty of little, androgynous boys that would have wanted to use you for your money that are WAY more attractive. Oy!
