Marin Mazzie belting sometimes

Hello, gorgeous fans. I have always been an enormous fan of Marin Mazzie. I first saw her in the wildly acclaimed revival of Kiss Me Kate with Brian Stokes Mitchell, and have been a fan of her sometimes thrilling, sometimes weird, always enjoyable singing. Marin made her big splash when she created the role of Clara in Sondheim's Passion. She got MAJORLY naked for it and sang and acted the role beautifully. She also originated the role of Mother in Ragtime. Since then she has gone on to be Broadway's best replacement. It's really so weird. She hasn't originated many roles at all, but for many successful shows, she'll replace the leading lady. For example: Aldonza in the 2002 Man of La Mancha Revival, Lady of the Lake in Spamalot, and most recently Diana in Next to Normal. She also just starred in the Off-Broadway revival of Carrie as Veronica...I mean Margaret, Carrie's crazy mother.

Marin has always done the same thing: low belting with full throated head voice. Well, LITTLE DID I KNOW, Marin, in her earlier days, sometimes did really thrilling highish belting. Exciting! Check out this clip of her in Merrily We Roll Along in 1991! Also, check out Marin more recently in Carrie...ugh
