Matilda/Mara Wilson, still around and being awesome!

Hello, gorgeous ones! One of my FAVORITE Roald Dahl books, Matilda, is also one of my favorite children's movies. The book is darker and less sappy than the movie is, but it doesn't mean the movie doesn't make this diva cry like...well...a diva. Anyway, the actress who portrayed Matilda, Mara Wilson, recently did an interview on why she decided to leave Hollywood behind. "Here is something no real celebrity will ever tell you: film acting is not very fun." Don't worry, though. Mara has found her place in the sun. She attended NYU and is now a playwright. She even did a one woman show about how her life has changed because of being recognized from her movies.

In my opinion, I think it's great when someone sees it in themselves that a performance career maybe isn't for them, or maybe the type of performance they do, whether it be theater, film, tv, etc, isn't for them and they branch out and find what makes them happy and creatively fulfilled. Props to Mara!
